Cosmetic Leg LengtheningTreatments

How Exactly Does it Work?

Cosmetic Leg Lengthening is done by opening up the leg bones (femur or tibia or both) and putting inside high-tech devices called internal fixators. These devices open gaps in the bone every day with the help of their nails inside the bone by 1 millimeter. As the bone heals itself and fills these opened gaps, the lengthening completes every day in a very natural way.

What is the Maximum Number of Achievable Centimeters?

The lengthening amounts differ with your method of choice. For LON, you can extend up to 10 cm (4 inches) from the femur bone and 7-8 cm (3 inches) from the tibia. For Precise 2, the safe limits are 8 cm (3 inches) from the femur and 7 cm (2,7 inches) from the tibia due to technical limitations. Who Can Have Cosmetic Lengthening Surgery?

Anybody unsatisfied with their height between the ages of 18-50 can have the lengthening surgery. Your bone healing speed and being a non-smoker are determining factors in being a good candidate for this surgery. You can always send your x-rays to our team to find out if you are eligible for the surgery or not.

How Long Does it Take to Increase Your Height?

The surgery itself takes about 5 hours, including preparation time, anesthesia and the time it takes to Post-Anesthesia recuperation. After the surgery, the patient stays at the hospital for 4 nights. After the hospital phase, the patient is transferred to the medical hotel to start the lengthening after a week from the surgery. Since 1 millimeter is achieved in 1 day, 1 cm of lengthening takes 10 days . So if your aim is 8 cm (3 in), the lengthening period would take at least 80-90 days. It also takes 6 months for the bone to recover fully. The patient can go back to regular activities after 6 months. Also, non-ordinary fast and increased lengthening surgeries affect the healing process negatively. On the other hand, the most positive impact on healing is to do physical therapy exercises after the surgery regularly.

When Can I Go Back to My Daily Activities?

Regardless of the amount of lengthening, you can go back to your normal daily life after 6 months from the surgery. Activities such as professional sports, powerlifting, and fitness are recommended to be continued after at least 1 year from the surgery. Other than that, you can do everything the same as before after 6 months.
